Thompson Family
our Story . . .
I was saved in 1985 at Calvary Chapel Costa Mesa and in 1990 God called me to serve at the Calvary Chapel Conference Center in Millstatt, Austria. I was single and in my late 20s with a desire for God to use my life for His purposes. The first year I served as the maintenance man and plumber, but when the Iron Curtain fell it opened the door to freely preach the gospel to former communist countries. In February of 1991 I moved to Baja, Hungary, as part of a church planting team, and in 1992 I moved to former Yugoslavia to pastor a church in Subotica, Serbia. It was there I married my lovely wife Zuza in 1994 and our son Joshua was born in 1995. After turning the church over to national leadership, we moved to Spittal, Austria, to take over the pastorate of an existing Calvary Chapel. Our two daughters, Simone’ and Annemarie, were born while we served in Austria. In 1997, the Lord opened the door for us to oversee the ministry at the Calvary Chapel Bible College and Conference Center in Millstatt, Austria. Ironically, I became the overseeing pastor of the ministry where I had originally served as the plumber! In 2002, we relocated Calvary Chapel Bible College Europe from Austria to Vajta, Hungary, where our family lived for the next three years. After 15 years on the mission field, our family moved to Murrieta, California, in 2005 where I served as the director of the Calvary Chapel Conference Center until January 2019. During that time, I also served as the pastor of a local church called Cross Culture Ministries. Now we are taking a step of faith to enter into full-time missionary service, full of vision and expectation for God to do great things.
In His Service,
